LADIES; How To Stop Him From Walking All Over You

By Bunmi Sofola
Keep it simple: Resist the urge to over explain. Simple
responses such as “Sorry,
I can’t this time.” “I’m afraid I’m busy that day” are most
effective. The more details you offer, the more there will be
to argue about. The other person may try to change your
mind or decide that your excuse isn’t good enough. (“You
mean cleaning your closets is more important than I am?”)
When in doubt buy time; there’s no law saying you must
always answer at that moment. Say a co-worker ask you to
head up the fund raising drive for a company-sponsored
charity. Tell her, “let me think about it, and I’ll get back to
Then consider the best way to say no.
Expand your definition of, “I have plans.” Many people feel
they can’t turn down an invitation unless they have another
engagement on the calendar. But if you’ve scheduled some
“ me” time for yourself, that is an engagement. So, don’t be
afraid to say” sorry, I have plan” .
Make it a policy: Make your ‘no’ sound less personal by

Nigeria Vs Cameroon: Can These Eagles Seize This One Chance To Russia?

By Jude Opara, Abuja
Come September 1, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be
hosting their arch rivals, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon
in a high octane Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the
Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom
The match will indeed determine whether Nigeria will be
making her sixth appearance at the World Cup or not.
Currently, dictating the pace in Group B of the qualifier with
maximum six points, the Super Eagles know that a victory
over Cameroon will leave them with just one more victory
to fly to Russia next year. On the other hand, a defeat will
not only hand Cameroon a five points boost, but it will as
well dampen the morale of the Eagles ahead of the return
leg of the twin header in Yaoundé on September 4.
Many analysts are apprehensive over the ability of the Super
Eagles to defeat Cameroon, who are currently the African
champions given the rather lack lustre performance of the
team against South Africa in the African Cup of N…

Good Luck Jonathan Blast Army Chief, You Are Jobless For Monitoring Social Media

Immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan has taken a swipe at the President Muhammadu Buhari administration following his move to curb hate speech in the country.
By doing this, Jonathan shared a picture of a quote he made on Facebook in 2014.
The former President said in the quote, “I am the most abused and insulted President in the world but when I leave office, you will all remember me for the total ‘freedom’ you enjoyed under me.”
This came in apparent response to Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo’s earlier statement that the Federal Government would treat hate speech as terrorism.
Also, the Nigerian Army had during the week, said it would be monitoring social media posts.
However, while some of Jonathan’s followers applauded him for the post, others called him out for allegedly allowing corruption to thrive while he was on seat.

VCs, ASUU reject 120 cut-off mark for varsity admission

•‘It’s FG’s ploy to destroy public varsities’ Olufemi Atoyebi and Folashade Adebayo SOME Vice-Chancellors and the Academic Staff Union of Universities have rejected the decision of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to peg admission cut-off mark at 120 for universities and 100 for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education.
ASUU said the action, which it described as a “sad policy decision,” was in tandem “with the dream of the present government to destroy public universities in the country.” Most of the vice-chancellors our correspondents interviewed on the issue maintained that they would not lower admission standards in their respective varsities. The vice-chancellors stated that the decision would add no value to the nation’s university system. For instance, in a statement issued by the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, on the issue and released by his Media Assistant, Mr. Sunday Saanu, on Thursday,  the premier university stated tha…
