Shop owner charged with theft of tenant’s N5.6m goods

A 46-year-old shop owner, Oyesade Oke, who allegedly stole his tenant’s goods worth N5.6 million, was yesterday charged before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
He was, however, released on bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr P. A. Ojo said the sureties must be blood relations and should also show evidence of three years of tax payment.
Police Prosecutor Romanus Unuigbe said Oke committed the offences in November 2015.
Unuigbe alleged that the accused broke into the shop of the complainant, Tina Omagbemi, and stole her goods.
Oke pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The case has been adjourned until Aug. 21 for mention. (NAN)
