2019: Good Governance is possible in Nigeria - Dankwambo

A leading PDP Presidential aspirant, the incumbent Governor of Gombe state,  Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has appealed to PDP delegates constitutionally saddled with the responsibilities of electing a flag bearer for the the party to look beyond the much anticipated victory for the party in the general elections while exercising their statutory powers at the primary election of the party come October 6, saying, such victory at this time must be performance driven and nothing less.

According to Dr. Dankwambo, from all indications and reports at his disposal, greater number of Nigerians are looking forward to the PDP for genuine and true meaning of governance, away from their present sad experience in the hands of the Buhari led APC administration. This he said, is a task the party must not wish away while arriving at a candidate at this weekend's primary election.

Dr. Dankwambo stated this while addressing PDP delegates in the course of his consultation with the party grassroot hierarchies across the states visited last week. He cited the volume of indebtedness foisted on the country as a delicate trap which requires technical expertise to handle, as it would go a long way in defining the economic shape of Nigeria, 2019 and beyond. This he also warned, would form a foundation for the success or failure of the next administration.  He promised to bring his experience to bear as a technical partner who has had the privilege to serve as Accountant General of his state and the Federation, and his experience serving on the board of the Central Bank of Nigeria. "Nigeria is in dire need of a President who would not be engulfed in the flame of inferior analytical acumen to those creditors when the need to renegotiate the strangulating debts is brought on the table for the sake of the people", Dankwambo said.

On the rate of unemployment ravaging the country, he assured the delegates that his administration as President will prioritize establishment of cottage industries with the specific need, peculiarities and topography of communities in the country.  Establishment of such industries according to him, does not necessarily require elephant touches but easily manageable sizes with natural appeals to the local inhabitants of such communities, especially the youth. This standard as obtainable in other nations of the world, especially most Asian countries, will go a long way in sparking a form of industrial revolution in developing our communities through the energetic and innovative set of youth domiciled in the country, he noted.

Dr. Dankwambo further enjoined leaders of the party both at the State and national levels, to sit deep and latch on to the opportunity the overwhelming failure of the current APC administration has provided the PDP, with a pledge that his emergence as the next President of Nigeria would affirm PDP as a party of possibilities. He described himself as a potential tool of possibilities who should be deployed at this critical period. A tool to tell the people of Nigeria once and for all that humane and good governance devoid of over bloated deceit is possible.
